Cuero already planning a special Valentines Day…

CUERO, Texas–Move over Christmas lights and decked out trees- the holiday season is officially over. However, we’re only five weeks away from the next popular holiday: Valentine’s Day.

When asking Selena Milstead, Operations Manager at Chisholm Trail Museum, if it’s too early to be planning for Valentines Day she responded, “Not if you’re a smart person.”

A month in advance, people are already planning to spend money on their loved one. On average, 53% of Americans spend more than $200 dollars for that love-filled night. Cuero Chisholm Trail Museum is jumping on the trend.

“Celebrating Valentine’s Day with an offer to spend your romantic evening at the Proctor Greenhouse, and we’re doing that in a form of a raffle,” adds Milstead.

The completely remodeled 19th century home is ready to host a couple for a night. Purchasing a $10 raffle ticket is all you need for a chance to win.

“It will get you a one night stay at the Proctor Greenhouse with either your choice of a catered breakfast or catered dinner. Whichever you prefer with a late check out the next day,” says Milstead.

Dinner, flowers, candy, or nice jewelry are them most common gifts, but this experience is outside the norm.

“It’s a nice touch to kind of add a little romance and something different to your routine. Even if you’re from Cuero, or Victoria is not very far away, it’s not a long drive, to make that little extra effort for your valentine,” adds Milstead.

You can purchase raffle tickets (no limit on amount of tickets) at the Chisholm Trail Museum Gift Shop located at 302 North Esplanade Cuero, Texas 77954.

The final drawing will be done February 7th, and winners will be announced on the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum Facebook Page.
