Crossroads Veterans Center offers self defense classes to female veterans

The Crossroads Area Veteran Center will offer a self defense therapy class offered to women veterans and women spouses of veterans.

The class will be taught by Marine Veteran Greg Herrera. The Veteran’s Center hopes this class will give female veterans an emotional outlet to relieve stress and anxiety.

“We’re hoping that their quality of life will improve and that they’ll have the coping skills they need to improve their quality of life, and if they are isolating maybe they can find a group where they fit in or something they can use as an outlet or find some coping skills,” said Female Peer Specialist Sarah Holland.

The class will be held at 2707 North Laurent at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from March 8th to March 29th.

The classes will hold 40 women. If you’re interested in the classes visit the Crossroads Area Veterans Center to register.
