Crossroads Comics closing its doors Monday

Another Victoria business is closing. Crossroads Comics and Games is going out of business.
Newscenter 25’s David Gibson spoke to the owner about the closing.

Crossroads Game and Comics will open its doors for the last time on Monday December 31st.
“We are closing in Victoria is because of the demographics and because of the shape Victoria is in. i feel like after the oilfield money left the prices are still high and a lot of residents in victoria don’t have disposal income. i feel that is a root cause of a lot of businesses closing in Victoria,” says Bryan Scott, Owner.

After 3 and a half years of business Bryan Scott is closing Crossroads Game and Comics. He believes there are several underlying reasons for the closing. One of them being that everything is going digital.”I really feel the way society is moving is more of a technological age and its going to hurt the little guys like me,” tells Scott. “With everything going digital now comic books being digital and games being digital, this kind of stuff is almost becoming nostalgic. its just the changing of the times and i don’t think there is anything that can be done about it.”

This setback isn’t stopping him. Scott says his future isn’t certain right now, but he and his family are considering moving somewhere else and maybe opening up another shop.”I think in another town it will be more people and more population, i think could be more lucrative. i think being somewhere else it would really help the foot traffic and the number of customers that come in the store. so maybe its a possibility to open up crossroads in another city. it could happen,” explains Scott.

Scott wants to thank everyone who supported his shop through the years.
“Thanks for showing up i appreciate everything you guys have done the last three and half years have been a great ride. i wouldn’t trade it for the world, i built a strong community here, its bitter sweet to see it go but its a changing of the times,” declares Scott.
