CrossFit teams compete to benefit veterans monument

At the Fit Strong United CrossFit gym in Victoria, CrossFit teams from across the state competed in the third annual Battle for the Monument on Saturday. Honor 361, a Victoria non-profit, hosted the CrossFit competition to help raise money to build a veteran monument.

More than 60 teams from across Texas registered for the event. Teams competed doing different CrossFit exercises.

Event organizers say its one of the largest fitness competitions in Victoria. All of the funds go toward helping build the Honor 361 project. The organization is planning to build a monument that honors fallen soldiers from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, as well as other veterans.
