Create your own sundial and sand timer at Hands On History event

The Museum of the Coastal Bend will host “Hands-on History: It’s About Time” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.

Guests can create their own sand timer and sundial and learn about how people have kept time throughout history.

Admission to the museum is “pay-what-you-want.”

The museum has recently unveiled two new exhibits. “Weird & Wonderful Prehistoric Animals” showcases fossilized bones and information on mammals’ lifestyles, adaptations and interactions with early peoples. “The Journey: Victoria College Through the Decades” examines the various roles Victoria College as it nears 100 years of serving the community.

The Museum of the Coastal Bend is located on Victoria College’s Main Campus at 2200 E. Red River Street in Victoria. Regular museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
