Study: COVID-19 spreading in Nursing Homes
Researchers find out the coronavirus is spreading asymptomatically in Nursing Homes.
VICTORIA, Texas – A new study from Brown University finds COVID-19 is spreading asymptomatically in nursing homes.
Their findings analyzed over 5,000 cases from 20 U.S. states. The cases were described as:
- 40% asymptomatic
- 20% pre-symptomatic
- 40% showed symptoms
Scientists say there should be universal testing in these facilities to identify and isolate cases.
Some experts are warning the next 6-12 weeks might be the darkest of the entire COVID-19 pandemic.
In response to this finding, the federal government has made a deal with CVS and Walgreens pharmacies to help distribute the coronavirus vaccine.
These pharmacies plan to distribute the approved vaccine to long-term care facilities and nursing homes.
