COVID-19 outbreak reported at Citizens Medical Center
VICTORIA, Texas — The Victoria County Public Health Department is reporting an outbreak at Citizens Medical Center after an increased number of investigations of COVID-19 cases associated with this facility, totaling 16.
These 16 cases were all employees of Citizens Medical Center and are currently under isolation. The health department is working with the facility to identify any potentially exposed individuals and ensuring proper measures are carried out to limit the further spread of the virus. More information will be provided once it becomes available, as the investigation is ongoing.
The public health department is working with the facility to monitor any positive cases contacts, set up any needed tests, and work to identify any contacts who may have been exposed while they were infectious. Anyone found to have had close contact to these cases will be contacted directly by health department staff.
