COVID-19 mobile testing to take place Friday in Lavaca County

VICTORIA, Texas — Lavaca County has been listed as a DSHS testing site and the Hallettsville Knights of Columbus Hall at 321 US Hwy 77 South in Hallettsville meets all the criteria to host the site.

Testing is free of charge and will take place on Friday, April 24, 2020, from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. All tests will be scheduled in advance and patients will be given appointments for tests.

Symptoms include:

• Fever and/or chills

• Cough (Dry or Productive)

• Fatigue

• Body aches/muscle or joint pain

• Shortness of Breath

• Sore Throat

• Headaches

• Nausea/Vomiting/Diarrhea

• Nasal Congestion

• Loss of Taste and/or Smell

Lavaca County, Texas was chosen as one of 25 areas for the mobile testing locations, identified by Texas DSHS. The teams will have 11 medical professionals and support staff, as well as 34 soldiers. Currently, the Texas National Guard has the capacity to test 150 people per day at each mobile testing team location.
