County Judge says bars in Victoria County can re-open at 50% capacity

Regions with los percentage of COVID-19 hospitalizations can re-open bars

VICTORIA, Texas- Victoria County was approved to re-open bars Monday.

This decision comes after Governor Greg Abbott announced last week that bars in regions with a low percentage of people in the hospital with COIVD-19 can re-open.

County Judge Ben Zeller says the county can re-open bars at 50% capacity as of this Wednesday. Bars have to stop serving at 11 p.m. dance floors should not be open.

Zeller says this approval is for the rest of the bars in the Crossroads area that were not able to re-open under the restaurant designation.

Zeller also said that the Governor could require the county to close bars again if there is an uptick of COVID-19 cases.
