County Judge calls meeting to discuss election reporting delays

VICTORIA, Texas- County Judge, Ben Zeller, has issued a notice of meeting regarding the County of Victoria Elections Commission.

The notice states that the purpose of this meeting is to “Determine cause of the drastic delays in reporting of election night results, evaluate any relevant personnel, determine corrective plan of action, and take any action deemed necessary.”

Early election results weren’t reported until three hours after the polls closed on Super Tuesday. Newscenter 25 made many phone calls to the Victoria Elections Office to get numbers and answers as to what was causing the delay. We were given conflicting information about when and how the numbers were going to be released. Finally at one a.m. on Wednesday the final election results were released.

The meeting will be held Monday March 9th at 11 a.m. at the Victoria County Emergency Operations Center located at 205 North Bridge Street B 100 EOC Classroom.
