County Commissioners to hire firm to handle forensic audit

Hurricane Harvey funds to be reviewed

VICTORIA, Texas- Monday the Victoria County Commissioners will clear the way to hire a firm to handle forensic audit services.

Commissioners will review a request for a forensic audit to review insurance funds used following Hurricane Harvey. That process started in January. Victoria County Judge, Ben Zeller, has issued a memo to commissioners court suggesting the county move forward with the audit.

“In January, I proposed to commissioner’s court that we conduct an independent, detailed, forensic audit for the insurance funds we spent on building repairs after Hurricane Harvey. And that’s exactly what we plan to do. On Monday’s commissioner’s court agenda, we’re going to talk about the details of that forensic audit and begin the search for a qualified firm to do this work,” said Zeller.

Another thing to be approved is advertising to find the best firm for the job.
