County Commissioners approve new Public Health Director
VICTORIA, Texas — Victoria County Commissioners approved a recommendation from the Public Health interview committee to name a new Public Health Director.
County Commissioners selected Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator David Gonzales to serve as the new Public Health Director.
Gonzales previously worked for the public health department and has worked for the office of Emergency Management for the past four years.
Gonzales says he is honored to be selected and is ready to take the mantle as the new Public Health Director.
“Definitely excited. I’m looking forward to the challenge. Looking forward to the opportunity. And, you know, just to keep the health department moving in a great direction that previous directors have began that movement on. You know, excited to work with the staff here as well. So, looking forward to it,” said David Gonzalez, new Public Heath Director.
Victoria County Commissioners will determine Gonzales’ start date in the near future.
