Counterfeit Bill Found in Victoria

The Victoria County Treasurers office found a counterfeit fifty dollar bill this morning. As the office ran money through their currency counter, the machine flagged the bill as suspicious.
A five dollar bill had been washed and transformed into a fifty dollar bill. The ink of the bill was dull and unclear.

“There’s a chance that there’s counterfeits out there. Always be looking for them. Look for a bill that’s discolored, doesn’t look fresh, the print on it is kind of dull and that’s what you look for. If your suspicious of it just take a real close look hold it up to the light and look for the water marks,” Victoria County Treasurer, Sean Kennedy said. The bill was reported to the Victoria county sheriff’s office and they will send it to the secret service department of treasury.
