Incumbent Victoria City Council member Jeff Bauknight keeps his seat in District 3

Jeff Bauknight and Aaron Franco will work together to improve District 3

VICTORIA, Texas – Jeff Bauknight and Aaron Franco have been in contact throughout this entire District 3 council member race. Jeff Bauknight won the race with 79.5% of the vote or 1,783 votes. Franco trailed behind with 20.5% of the vote or 460 votes. 2,243 people voted in District 3.

This was a friendly competition between the two and these candidates are eager for Victoria’s local political plans in the future.

Bauknight is looking forward for this next three year term and continuing to work with his peers.

“Well I’m very thrilled that the voters were confident in my abilities and I appreciate their support. It’s always very humbling when you have that support of the constituents. I want to thank them, I also want to thank Mr. Franco for being there. You know, stepping forward to try and be a leader in the community and I look forward to working with him in the future as well,” Bauknight said.

Aaron Franco admits that even with this loss, it has been a great experience for him so far.

Franco is confident he will run for another political position later on, as the opportunity presents itself.

“I think that the results were pretty clear. I went ahead and I called Mr. Bauknight a little earlier to congratulate him on running a successful campaign. We had a good chat about working together in the future, so that we can really strengthen our district. For starters I’d like to thank the people who voted for me, like I said, this isn’t the end for me. I didn’t win this campaign, but in the future you will see my name again,” Franco said.

Bauknight and Franco plan to keep working together to continue improving Victoria, even more.
