Corpus Christi man dies after motorcycle crash on FM 234
JACKSON COUNTY, Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a single Vehicle Fatality Crash that occurred on FM 234 at approximately 4:32 p.m. on Sunday, Mar 8, 2020 in Jackson Co. This, according to a statement released by Sgt. San Miguel, Texas Department of Public Safety.
A 2006 Yamaha motorcycle, operated by Ray Eric Gonzalez, 33- years-old, from Corpus Christi, was traveling north on FM 234 north. Gonzalez entered into a 90 degree left curve in the roadway and due to unsafe speed failed to navigate the curve safely. Gonzalez traveled off of the roadway to the right and struck a culvert.
The collision caused Gonzalez and his motorcycle to vault onto private property and strike a fence post. Gonzales was thrown from the motorcycle and came to a rest approximately 180 feet north of the motorcycle onto private property. Gonzalez was pronounced deceased at the scene at 5:10 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Darren Stanik.
The fatal crash is still under investigation.
