Cornyn: All persons should be counted in Census 2020
Deadline to fill out Census 2020 is end of September
Austin, Texas – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) announced this week in Harlingen he believes all persons should be counted in the U.S. Census:
“I believe that every person ought to be counted, and the fact that, as Judge Treviño said, we’re so far behind should be a cause of concern for everyone,” Sen. Cornyn said. “There are two main purposes for the census. One is to determine how congressional lines should be drawn because they’re based on roughly equal population. The other is to get access to financial support from the federal government. So I think everybody needs to be counted, but I expect like so many other issues there’s going to be litigation, and it will ultimately be decided by the courts.”
