The East Bernard community mourns the loss of a high school student who died in a car accident
Nick Sebring was a leader on his high school football team.
He also loved the outdoors. Whether you knew him or not, this incident has shocked people and has saddened them in this tightly-knit community.
Nick Sebring was killed January 29th, when his vehicle slammed head on into an unoccupied lumber truck.
The passenger, 17-year-old Victor James Tichacek , was life-flighted to a Houston’s Memorial-Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
Both students had just attended prom the night before, and were headed out for the final duck hunt of the season.
“East Bernard is a special community. When one hurts we all hurt. We have this thing, Brahmas family, we’re all in this together. We are all in this thing together,” said East Bernard High School Principal Jay Janczak.
Now the community is rallying together to show their support and comfort each other in this time of need.
“The outpouring of love and support from our community has been overwhelming. The hugs and well wishes have been abundant, and continue to come in on a daily basis. We would like to send our thanks to all the students of East Bernard High School, their wonderful parents, and the administration at EBISD,” said Nick Sebring’s Uncle Craig Guthman.
