Community Crossroads welcomes Fill the Boot & MDA

On Saturday, September 1st and Saturday, September 15th the Victoria Fire Department will help “Fill the Boot”. It’s a 65-year-old tradition to help the MDA.

You can find the firefighters at the corner of N.E. Zac Lentz and Navarro. There are about 30 MDA children and families living in the Victoria area who need our help.

The 9th Annual Flip Flop Festival kicks off August 31st in Port Lavaca. Last year’s event was canceled due to Hurricane Harvey. LoverBoy is the headliner on stage September 1st at 10 p.m. Follow the Flip Flop Festival on Facebook @flipflopfest.

If you know someone who needs a Mobile Makeover, Stevie Nyree and Heather Marburger can help. Each month the talented women give away a free makeover to a deserving woman in our community. Email here to nominate someone. Heather Marburger owns the Bohemian Blush Salon and together with Stevie they donate their services once a month. Find them on Facebook @bohemianblush or call 512-970-5303.

Next week on Community Crossroads we’re focusing on Hurricane Harvey one year later. We hope you’ll join us.

If you have a story idea email me.

You can catch Community Crossroads each Saturday at 5 p.m. on ABC. On Sunday find it on CBS at 7 a.m., NBC at 10 a.m. and FOX at 5 p.m.
