Community Crossroads welcomes Dr. Quintin Shepherd of the V.I.S.D.

This weekend Dr. Quintin Shepherd is on the show. He’ll talk about his first eight days as Superintendent of the Victoria I.S.D. He’ll update us on the new online registration this year and his plans to listen and learn from the community.

The YMCA of the Golden Crescent is having its 2018 Corporate Cup September 10th – 15th. Participants can expect Volleyball, Bowling, Corn Hole, Obstacle Courses, a Balloon Toss and more. The Victoria Business and Education Coalition has a Bowl-A-Thon July 21st. The coalition brings businesses and community members together to help students complete high school and get them ready for the workforce, higher education or other training. To register your team click here.

Here’s what you can expect next week on Community Crossroads. We have several young men who just returned from American Legion Boys State. They spent six days in Austin learning about how to run for public office and how bills are passed. Dr. Steven Gartzman with Victoria ER is in to talk about preventing heat related illnesses this summer. Angels Care Home will tell us about how you can help them as they collect fans to help seniors battle the heat this summer. The Little Warrior Cheer Camp opens later this month. And Cavender’s is selling paper torches to help Special Olympics Texas.
