Community Crossroads recognizes Hurricane Harvey: One Year Later

Harvey began as a tropical wave off the west coast of Africa on August 13, 2017. On August 25th, it became a Category 3 major hurricane and quickly gained strength to become a Category 4 storm. That night, it made landfall on San Jose Island between Port Aransas and Port O’Connor.

One year later, Community Crossroads is dedicating an entire show to remembering Hurricane Harvey.

Join us as we speak with Richard McBrayer of Victoria County, Mark Hanna with the Insurance Council of Texas, Christy Bear with Goliad County, Sheriff Carl Bowen with DeWitt County, Debra Murphy-Luera with the American Red Cross and other area leaders. You’ll also meet three special guests from the City of Wharton.

We’ll also meet with our three meteorologists, Chief Bill Alexander, Trey Meynig, and Jesse Kelley.

If you have a story idea email James here.

Catch Community Crossroads on ABC at 5 p.m. Saturday. And on Sunday watch the show on CBS at 7 a.m., NBC at 10 a.m. and Fox at 5 p.m.
