Commissioners to consider new specialty court, opposing federal changes to how metro areas are defined
The change in the federal definition of metro areas could put our area at risk of losing federal dollars
VICTORIA, Texas- Victoria County Commissioners meet Monday morning to consider the addition of a specialty court for felony drug offenders.
The court would be known as the Victoria County CARE Court, commissioners are also considering the establishment of a 700-acre reinvestment zone at north industrial site at the Port of Victoria.
Commissioners will also consider a resolution opposing changes to how metropolitan areas are identified. These proposed changes by the federal office of management and budget could put the area at risk of losing federal funding.
