Commissioners approve application for community block grant
VICTORIA, Texas — The Victoria County Commissioners approved to apply for a $3.5 million community block grant program.
With the money the county will split it with all four precincts for road and bridge improvements related to Hurricane Harvey. The county turned in the application and waiting to hear back.
“We will utilize grant dollars to supplement the local tax dollars that we collect. We are real optimistic, we will be getting this funding in this instance, and we are actively pursuing that,” Tells Ben Zeller, County Judge.
