Said coach White, “It’s huge, especially since this is only my second year building up the program and what’s expected and what’s accomplished by our athletes. It’s huge for the program.”

Then I was at Victoria College, where sophomore volleyball right-side hitter Kate Sexton of Palacios signs with Texas Lutheran University. Sexton was a key player on the Pirates’ league championship teams the past two years, and she was a four-year All-District selection for the Sharkettes. I talked with Kate Sexton.

“It’s really exciting. I’ve been working toward this since my freshman year of high school. I’ve always wanted to play college ball through all four years. This is a big opportunity to be able to play for a D-3 college.”
