Cloudy and Humid Overnight, Cooler with Storms Thursday; then Windy, Wet and Colder Friday

A pattern shift to a colder and wetter regime is underway for the eastern half of the United States, including the Crossroads. Beginning with modestly cooler air on Thursday, then transitioning to windy, wet and colder conditions Friday, the north-to-south upper air flow pattern will pull Canadian air southward in repeated surges. Those colder intrusions will be overrunning by the existing warm tropical air, resulting in clouds and rain. Look for another surge of cold air the first of next week to keep temperatures about 20 degrees below normal. Another round of widespread rainy, windy conditions is in store for your Monday.
