Clemmie Cooley retires after nearly 50 years
VICTORIA, Texas — A VISD athletics staple is calling it quits.
Clemmie Cooley, who served as lead secretary in the athletics office and worked there for nearly 50 years, officially retired on Tuesday. A party was held at the athletics office, with coaches and former VISD Athletics Director Leonard McAngus in attendance.
“It’s been fun to watch a lot of games. I’ve had sons and grandsons who participated, and my husband was an athlete,” said Cooley at the event. “Athletics have been a part of my life for a long time.”
Cooley managed the day-to-day operations of the athletics department before her departure.
