Dry Canadian high pressure lingers over the Crossroads, but temperatures are slowly modifying and a freeze is not expected again overnight. Still, look for the mercury to remain 10 to 20 degrees below normal through the next week. Gulf moisture returns to the scene Saturday night, however, and sets up an extended rain event that persists through most of next week. A series of upper level disturbances will deliver scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms through Wednesday. Rainfall may be significant, exceeding two inches in places. No real cold air will be involved, however.
