City takes first steps in revamping Riverside Golf Course

It’s been a couple weeks since the announcement was made that The City of Victoria would take over control of Riverside Golf Course. On July 1, 2017 the City hopes to close the course for 60 days to help rehab the greens and look at the infrastructure and fees that will be required. City Manager Charmelle Garrett says certain areas of the green were dealing with an algae issue. The city has interviewed four consultants to help guide them and hopes to have one selected by July 7, 2017. The parks department will hire 3 temporary employees to help maintain the course. It is still the vision of the City Manager to have a management company run Riverside Golf Course in the future.
