City of Victoria to host virtual 9/11 memorial ceremony
The public is invited to watch the ceremony via live stream
VICTORIA, Texas – On Friday, Sept. 10, the Victoria Fire Department will hold a live-streamed 9/11 memorial ceremony. The event will take place at the Memorial Stadium to recognize the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. It will also honor the first responders who sacrificed their lives that day.
Although the event will not be open to in-person attendance by the public, residents are invited to view a live stream of the ceremony beginning at 7:45 a.m. You can view the live stream on the City of Victoria, Texas – Government and Victoria Fire Department Facebook pages.
Retired United States Marshal Deputy Chief Dan Phillips will speak at the event. Chief Philips is the national director of Responder Health, a provider of mental wellness programs for first responder agencies. He is also the national training director for Armor Up America. Armor Up America is an organization that works to treat PTSD and provide mental health support to first responders. Chief Phillips possesses expertise in building and sustaining law enforcement peer support programs. He has also responded to mass casualty scenes and other critical incidents across the nation.
