City accepting HOT Fund applications to promote local tourism

The City of Victoria is accepting applications from local organizations seeking Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Funds from July 29, 2019 until August 9, 2019.

The revenues collected may only be used to promote tourism and the convention and hotel industry.

Priority will be given to applicants based on their ability to generate overnight visitors to Victoria, including the arts, historical preservation, tourism and sporting organizations.

Only those events and programs that generate meaningful hotel night activity will be eligible to receive hotel occupancy tax funds.

All requests for funds must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on August 9, 2019. The application is posted to the City’s website.
