Children’s Discovery Museum re-opening Saturday

VICTORIA- For more than a year, the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent has been expanding its playhouse to serve more children. Its new building, located on 1205 Sam Houston Drive will finally welcome those anxious children this Saturday.

The former Victoria icon, Playhouse Cinema 4 has officially transformed into a new kind of ‘house of play’.

The museum will open its doors this Saturday, March 11, in a grand re-opening celebration. The event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and according to executive director Selena Milstead they’re expecting a big crowd.

On Monday, we got a sneak peak at the 15-thousand square feet, nearly $3 million dollar renovation and it’s filled with a number of activities for children to do. All – which can be seen this weekend.

Since a majority of the activities will spill out into the parking lot, the museum is offering free shuttle rides from the Victoria Fine Arts center at 1002 Sam Houston Dr.

Admission is $7.50.
