POTTER COUNTY, Texas – A Texas father is calling for changes to gun laws after his eight-year-old son was shot in an episode of road rage.

Eric Frausto says his son Nicco sustained a gunshot wound to the head Friday. Frausto says the driver of a truck that ran a red light fired the shot after he honked at him.

His son was struck sitting in the backseat. Frausto retaliated by chasing the gunman’s vehicle down and running it off the road, totaling his vehicle.

The suspected shooter was treated at the hospital before being booked at the potter county jail. He’s facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Nicco was released from the hospital Sunday after being treated for a hairline fracture of his skull.
