COVID-19 Pandemic Brings On These Changes

East Football 8 21

Here are the changes for the upcoming VISD Athletics/Extra-Curricular Physicals.

Hello VISD Parents and Students,

We hope the letter has finds you well and thriving as best you can during our current situation. As per the UIL we have had some changes for this coming year regarding its regulations as it pertains to athletic/extracurricular physicals. For the 2020-2021 school year the UIL has changed its response for athletic physicals. The UIL has stated that anyone who had physical from the previous year will be good fore the 2020-2021 school year. No new physical is required unless the student has had one of the following circumstances occur:

1. The student has never had a previous physical. (ex. New student to athletics or band, incoming 7th grader or 9th grader, etc.)

2. The student has had some sort of surgery since their previous physical.

3. Has answered yes to one of the first six questions listed on the medical history form.

The UIL has updated the Medical history form for the 2020-2021 school year. We have been in contact with RANKONE Sports and will have it uploaded on the form page as a required form that the parent will fill out and complete the check boxes. As we have done in years past all forms will be done online at www.rankonesport.com . Please find Texas, then Victoria ISD and begin the online forms. Each student will be required to complete 8 forms in total that will also include the NEW Medical History form. All students will need to complete this form. No other versions of the Medical History Form will be accepted. Rankone will have it setup that if you the parent answers yes to one of the questions requiring a new physical the Athletic Trainers will be notified. This means that your student will need a new physical and will not be allowed to participate until they have received a new physical for the 2020-2021 school year. We have set a deadline of July 31st, 2020 to have all forms completed. If your student has not completed the required forms then they will not be allowed to participate until all forms have been completed and checked off by one of the Athletic Trainers.

In an effort to help those students that have been identified as one that will need a new physical prior to the start of fall activities we will try to host a physical date on August 1st from 9-12 at West HS. For this year only, we will waive the fees for those students that participate in our school based physical. We will send out information confirming a date for the athletic physical drive as we get closer to that time. If for any reason you have any questions please feel free to contact any of the Athletic Trainers.

Thanks again for all of your complete support and patience in these trying times. Stay Safe
