CCISD Approves 19 Million For Travis Middle School
Calhoun County ISD recently approved $19 million to be put toward the building of Travis Middle School.
The $65 million dollar bond was approved in November 2013.
Since then, the district has planned more than 200 projects.
According to CCISD Superintendent, James Cowley, 34 million dollars will be put toward Travis Middle School in total.
The 19 million dollars will be put toward phase 2 of the stadium, a network operations center, the interior of Travis Middle, and other renovations.
The district says these changes are necessary because the school has aged, and they want to create new learning opportunities for students.
“We’re just doing great. We appreciate the tax payers when they passed the bond in November of 2013. Hopefully they’re going to have facilities for their children to be proud of, so we’re looking forward to it,” says Superintendent James Cowley.
