Capital murder charges for suspect in Mission Valley shooting

The Victoria County Sheriff's Office is investigating a capital murder case in the 10,000 block of FM 236 near Mission Valley.

Victoria Texas – Authorities have arrested Emillio Miguel Macedo, 32, and charged him with capital murder-multiple persons and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Investigators have not released details on the victims. Just before noon Monday the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were working an incident in the Mission Valley area near the 10,000 block of FM 236. They said there was no active threat or danger to the public at that time.

The Dewitt County Sheriff’s Office said they were called on to help the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office in locating a vehicle that took off from a shooting in Victoria County on FM 236. It was a red Ford pick-up truck. A DeWitt county deputy spotted the suspect vehicle just south of the Guadalupe River bridge outside Cuero. The deputy tried to pull the driver over, but the driver kept going, as the truck entered city limits of Cuero. The Cuero Police Department put out spike strips, however the driver swerved around the strips and lost control and crashed in the 1200 block of McArthur St. Macedo was taken into custody. The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office will release more details on Tuesday.
