Calhoun routs Sharyland 70-14
Victoria, TEXAS — Calhoun’s first home playoff game in eight years couldn’t have gone much better.
The Sandcrabs routed Sharyland 70-14 in their playoff opener Friday, scoring on their first play from scrimmage as part of a 42-point first half outburst. Conner Kestler scored twice in the first half, as did running back Steve Johnson. Johnson also eclipsed the 2,000-yard rushing mark for the season in the first quarter of the win.
With the win, the Sandcrabs secured a second-round date with Boerne Champion next week. Calhoun lost in the regional quarterfinals to Calallen in 2018.
