Calhoun Football Star Wins State Honor
Kestler Named Ford State Player Of Week
Port Lavaca, Texas — A major state honor for a Calhoun football senior.
Conner Kestler, named Built Ford Tough State 5A Player Of The Week. In the Sandcrabs’ 57-27 win at San Antonio Southside, Kestler ran for 271 yards and five touchdowns, two of them from 66 and 52 yards, and he also threw a 49-yard touchdown pass. Calhoun is 7-2 on the season, 5-1 in district, ranked eighth in the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine state 5A Division II poll. Kestler ranks 44th in the state, all classes, in scoring this season with 138 points on 23 touchdowns. He is 88th in the state with 1148 rushing yards. The Sandcrabs host third ranked Calallen Friday night in one of the biggest games in the state this week.
