Demanding justice for Black Women
HOUSTON, Texas – Benjamin Crump, nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney, along with Pamela Turner’s family, will be joined by Tamika Palmer, the mother of Breonna Taylor. They will be holding a news conference on April 8 at 11:30 a.m. Central Time in Houston to announce the filing of a federal lawsuit against former officer Juan Delacruz and the City of Baytown in the police killing of Pamela Turner. Both the press conference and lawsuit filing concur with what would have been Turner’s 46th birthday.
Pamela Turner, an unarmed black woman, was shot and killed by Baytown Police Officer Juan Delacruz while she was on the ground on May 13, 2019. Cellphone footage of the killing has now gone viral.
While Louisville Police were in search of a suspect, who was already in their custody, Breonna Taylor, an unarmed black woman, was asleep in her apartment when they came bursting into her home without warning using a battering ram. Taylor was shot 6 times by Louisville Police, killing her.
