Bond Oversight Committee to hold listening session for new elementary campus

Community members will have the chance to share thoughts, ideas on new Mission Valley Elementary School

VICTORIA, Texas – The Bond Oversight Committee (BOC) for the new Mission Valley Elementary School capital construction bond will hold a listening session on Thursday, Sept. 1. The listening session will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Mission Valley Elementary cafeteria for interested community members.

The citizen’s BOC will help ensure Victoria I.S.D. bonds, as adopted by the Board and approved by voters, are implemented on time, with quality and transparency and within budget.

Small groups with BOC committee members will have the chance to share their thoughts and ideas surrounding the needs of the new elementary campus.

So far, the V.I.S.D. Board of Trustees have approved to hire Rawley McCoy & Associates Architects (RMA) as the architectural firm. They also approved the hire of Weaver & Jacobs Constructors, Inc. as the Construction Manager At-Risk (CMAR) at the recommendation of the BOC and District Administration.

The CMAR will be responsible for delivering the project within a guaranteed maximum price and working with RMA to design the elementary school.
