Body found inside car in parking lot near Candlewood Suites and Starbucks in Victoria

Update: Loc Phan, the name of the man found dead inside his blue corvette, was the co-owner of the Sky Restaurant by Victoria Mall. He owned the restaurant with his parents and was known for his great hospitality and customer service. His next of kin have been notified of his passing.

Update: Officials have order an autopsy on the male found dead inside a blue corvette near Candlewood Suites and Starbucks, believed to be 38-year-old Loc Phan. It is unknown at this time what the cause of death is or if police believe foul play is involved. Detectives are still investigating at this time and have only ruled the case as a “death investigation”.

VICTORIA – Officials discovered a male body inside a car in a parking lot Monday morning near the Candlewood Suites and Starbucks in Victoria. A passerby spotted what appeared to be someone sleeping inside a blue corvette. The passerby called police to report a welfare check around 4:50 a.m. of the person inside the car. Officials say the body is 38-year-old, Loc Phan. That’s when police arrived on the scene to discover the body. The cause of death is still under investigation.
