“We began this week around Tuesday and really we’re just educating the community that right now our blood supply is low, it’s really tedious coming the Christmas holiday, Ron Chavez, Facility Director for South Texas Blood and Tissue Center in Victoria. We experienced this right after Thanksgiving and we went into an earlier appeal that began in December and here we are again coming off the Christmas holidays right back in the appeal again with our inventories being really low.”

Anyone who donates to the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center gets a Wal-Mart gift card.

O positive and O negative donors can potentially earn two gift cards because of an increase in demand.
