Brian Alonzo

Chief Meteorologist

Email Brian

Brian joined The Victoria Television Group in March of 2020 as Chief Meteorologist.

Brian is no stranger to Texas. He was born and raised in San Antonio. He has had a passion for weather ever since he was kid when he would love to watch thunderstorms from his grandparents home near Canyon Lake. After high school, he attended the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) where he majored in Communication Arts. Since that wasn’t his true passion, he went up to Oklahoma where they really see a lot of severe weather. He attended the University of Oklahoma for a couple of years, majoring in Meteorology. While there, he worked in the operations department at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City.

When UIW started a meteorology program he returned home to San Antonio. He was the first student to receive a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology. While going to college, Brian was hired at KSAT-TV as weather and traffic producer. He held that position for 10 years. Wanting to expand his career, Brian decided to move in front of the camera and moved to Tyler, Texas where he was hired at KETK-TV as weekend meteorologist.

Brian likes to stay active with weather organizations and was even President of the South Central Texas Chapter of the American Meteorological Society/National Weather Association.

Of course, Brian now calls the Crossroads home and he’s excited to be a part of this community. If you see him out and about, don’t be shy and say howdy!
