VICTORIA, Texas – Glass Street in Victoria was blocked off a couple hours Wednesday morning for the “Beyond the Call of Duty” organization.

About 60 people attended the ceremony and looked at the memorial display set up between Forest Street and Constitution Street in front of the Victoria County

Sheriff’s Office. “Beyond The Call of Duty”  is a non-profit organization honoring fallen officers and first responders who die in the line of duty.

Current officers insist this is a humbling experience knowing the community supports them on a daily basis and honors fallen brothers and sisters.

“It’s a huge thing, it’s a huge thing for us to stand here and see the sacrifices that these men and women have made over the last year,” said Sgt. San Miguel with the DPS.

“The Beyond The Call of Duty” organization left Victoria for Bay City and Galveston.
