Extended forecast: Sunday through Friday: We will see a more typical, summerlike weather pattern with afternoon rain chances ranging from 20% to 30% each day.  Southerly flow will provide above-normal moisture levels for the sea breeze to activate showers and a few storms.  Coastal areas could see isolated to scattered precipitation at night into the early morning hours.  Afternoon heat index values will range from 101-105 with some higher values west of the Crossroads.  Winds will be generally SE 10-15, gusting to 20-25, especially along the coast.

Synopsis: Broad surface high pressure over the southeast will continue to provide onshore flow, giving the area abundant moisture throughout the week.  High temperatures will be in the normal range for August, mid to upper 90s with lows in the mid to upper 70s.  Rain chances increase toward the end of the week to the 30%-40% range starting Thursday through Saturday as another midlevel, inverted trough pushes into the Central Gulf, providing an increase in PVA, similar to what we saw this week. With the approach of the full moon on the 12th, tide levels will be higher starting Monday through the week with some minor coastal flooding possible during high tide, Wednesday through Friday.~ Scott
