Beto O’Rourke Visits Victoria

U.S. Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke made a stop in Victoria as part of his 34 day drive across Texas. Visiting all 254 counties in the state, the El Paso native has gained popularity as the democratic candidate to face Texas Senator Ted Cruz at the polls this November. O’Rourke’s current campaign is based on the belief of running with people and no political action committees.

Campaign organizers had about 150 people RSVP to the town hall meeting but had a higher turnout. People of all ages filled the pavilion to hear O’Rourke’s future plans if elected as state senator. O’Rourke visited Victoria last year just days before Hurricane Harvey struck, he says he’s inspired by the resilience of the people of Victoria.
