Benefit held for Anthony Rojas Jr. to help funeral costs
The 21-year-old was killed by a pick-up truck on a highway road where he had been fishing
VICTORIA, Texas – A benefit for Louis Anthony Rojas Jr. was held Sunday, April 26th at noon, located at Rudy’s on the Run, to help with funeral costs. Anthony worked at Rudy’s on the run as a pizza guy, and the owner of Rudy’s on the run, Rudy Gonzales, reached out to the Roajs family and wanted to have a benefit at the restaurant in honor of Anthony. They served plates of BBQ chicken, rice, beans, all the trimmings including tea as the drink and they even had a bake sale as well. Anthony Rojas Jr’s father, Louis Rojas, says that he is blessed that he got to spend the final hours of his son life, doing what his son loved to do, fishing.
He started to love fishing so we started going on fishing trips. I got to spend that day with my son, since 8 in the morning we were fishing all day long it was just a real blessing. We went out to Austwell Wildlife and it was just an amazing day. We were on the pier that day with my brother my niece, my son, there was such beauty that we actually said grace on the pier. But he loved fishing and just wanted to go fishing when I dropped him off at night. But God had other plans, and I believe that.
The Rojas family wants to thank everyone that bought tickets for the food, Rudy the owner and the whole community for coming out and being there for them in this time of need.
