Bay City police investigate weekend burglaries

Detectives Investigating Robbery and Burglary that Occurred Over Weekend

Bay City police department detectives are investigating two separate incidents that occurred over the weekend. The first was a robbery that occurred on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at approximately 12:29 a.m., in the 2500 block of Matthews.

The victim stated he was awaken by barking dogs and banging on his front door. The man thought he recognized the subject banging on the door and opened the door. At that time the alleged suspect pulled a gun and threatened the victim. A second subject also approached and forced the victim inside the residence.

After searching the house for valuables, the suspects left location with a few dollars. The victim was not injured and called the police department.

The burglary occurred on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at approximately 11:27 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Avenue C in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival the officers met with the victim who stated he was in his residence when he heard a knock at the back door. The victim stated he looked out a window and observed a black male wearing a ski mask standing at the door. The alleged suspect yelled for the victim to open the door. The victim started walking to the front of the residence and heard the suspect striking the back door.

The victim was able to run out the front door and run to a neighbor’s house to call the police. The suspect(s) did not take anything from the residence.

At this time detectives are still investigating both incidents. Detective Armando Galvan is investigating the burglary and Detective Juan Delgado has been assigned to the robbery.
