Here is the latest information on Back-to-School 2022-23

VICTORIA, Texas – Here is a look at Back-to-School information for the Victoria ISD.

School times

School times will not change for the 2022-2023 school year for Victoria ISD students. Shield Elementary School will begin at 7:45 a.m. and end at 3:15 p.m., and O’Connor Elementary will begin at 7:45 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. All other elementary schools will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 3:15 p.m.

All VISD middle schools will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and high schools will run from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Elementary school information

Froggy Camp, initially known as Minnow Camp, will take place on Monday, Aug. 8, from 4 to 5 p.m. for Pre-K students. The camp will be located at your Pre-K campus.

Kinder to 5th-grade students will have a Sneak Peaks on Monday, Aug. 8. The event will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. at your home campus. Campuses will send out electric letters with detailed information regarding each elementary campus.

Parents and guardians of elementary students, Victoria ISD will partner with three after-school programs for the school year. You can find more information on VISD’s Elementary After-School Programs page.

Middle and high school information

Sixth-grade orientation will take place on Monday, Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. at your child’s campus. Freshman orientation, also known as Fish Camp, will occur on Thursday, July 28 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at your child’s campus.

VISD will send out students schedules electronically via email.

Secondary campuses do not have school supply lists. Instead, students will receive lists from their teachers during the first week of school.

On July 1, the Free/Reduced Lunch Application and Income Survey became available for completion. For state accountability of funding, applications and surveys must be completed and processed by Friday, Oct. 28. You can read more on the Free/Reduced Lunch Application and Income Survey here.

Extracurricular activities

All athletics and Fine Arts events will continue using Ticket Spicket for online ticket purchases. You will not be able to purchase an in-person ticket at the VISD Athletic Dept. officer or ticket booths. You can download the mobile app or visit
