Authorities: Car chase near Ander in Goliad County

Goliad County Sheriff's Office ask residents in the Ander area to report any suspicious activity.

GOLIAD COUNTY, Texas – According to a social media post by the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday at 4:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office assisted DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office in a car chase.

The car chase ended with an arrest of the driver off of Afflerbach Road near FM 884.

Following the initial car chase, multiple law enforcement agencies set up after receiving information that multiple stolen vehicles were headed towards Goliad from another area, according to the Goliad County Sherriff’s Office.

According to the social media post, before authorities could set up, a second car chase entered Goliad County near Ander.

The sheriff’s office said two were arrested, recovered a stolen truck, four stolen license plates and marijuana.

The sheriff’s office confirmed they had detained two undocumented people earlier in the day in a separate social media post.

Residents in the Ander area should make sure their keys are removed from vehicles and equipment and that doors are locked. If you see anything suspicious, please call the GCSO at 645-3451. -ЯB-
