Author and playwright speaks in UHV Reading Series

Author, playwright and screenwriter James Magnuson spoke at University of Houston Victoria’s American book review series.
Magnuson read an excerpt from his recent novel famous writers I have known which was inspired from his experiences picking up writers from the airport as a part of his work with the Michener center. Magnuson answered questions from the audience about his writing style. students enjoyed the reading series.
“The talk was very interesting in the sense that you have a speaker that has great writing ideas and at the same time is willing to admit that his ideas are scattered and he’s able to weave them back together into a very good book,” UHV Student, Arturo Rodriguez said. Magnuson held a book signing and spoke with students and faculty after the event. the event was free and open to the public.
