Athlete of the Week: Price Pruett
HALLETTSVILLE, Texas – The athlete of the week from September 3-9 goes to Hallettsville RB/WR Price Pruett.
Pruett scored three touchdowns on the night, including the game-winning score against the number six team in the state at the time, Industrial Cobras. Pruett also led the defense which held the Industrial offense to just 67 yards. Pruett had 125 yards on 21 carries which is just under six yards per run. He also totaled 27 yards in receiving. He explains his thought process on the last drive.
“It was just get the ball into the endzone, my quarterback Trace Patek told me to stick it in”, says Pruett. “So our offensive line blocked really hard because they wanted it as well. It was a good team effort. We just out worked them there.”
Although Pruett found the endzone multiple times and helped stop the Industrial offense, he went on to say that it was a team effort and even though he did have a great game, the win is all that matters.
“I think our defense did really good that game. We were really physical and that helped us out a lot. Our defense did good and our offense did good blocking and stuff like that.”
The Brahmas are back in the top ten again after its upset win against the Cobras. The Brahmas will host the Ganado Indians on September 10 at 7:30. Ganado is coming off a win over Tidehaven.
